Every spring, the fountains of Stuttgart get a thorough scrubbing. WEIS INDUSTRIES SERVICES is in charge of making a splash at fountains all over town, including the Schlossplatz. Back in the day, the two fountains were dedicated on the birthday of King Wilhelm I. Both fountains are decorated with personifications of Swabian rivers: Danube, Nagold, Tauber and Jagst on the north fountain, and Neckar, Kocher, Fils and Enz on the south fountain.

The historical figures on the fountains are cleaned after the winter, and the functionality of the water spouts is tested. With an expert touch, the throttle valves must be adjusted to the correct flow rate so that the water flows evenly and does not splash beyond the fountain’s rim. This “spring cleaning” takes several days to finish for the industrious team members of WEIS INDUSTRIES SERVICES® GmbH. All in all, twelve fountains in Stuttgart are waiting to be put back into service by the technicians from Esslingen. Just in time for Easter, they will once again flow and bubble merrily.
